Notes: (Pictured from left to right - Phil Summers, Kris Bauer, Travis Smith, Karl Bauer) The cover photo was taken by Knut Bauer at Busey Woods in Urbana, IL. Travis was the primary live drummer for the band from the time of the Here It Comes CD release show in 2002 to about 2004 when he left, being replaced by Kipp Wilfong. Phil Summers was the lead guitar player from the CD release show until The Invisible disbanded in 2006 after a brief stint with drummer Chris Black (Superchirst), later regrouping with drummer Michael Allen (Bellcaster) as Royal Electric, playing a final show at the third annual Pygmalion Music Festival in 2007. High Spirits was the first album recorded without ADAT machines, using instead a MOTU/DP configuration, bypassing the need for ADAT tapes altogether. It was recorded entirely at the third Polehouse location (and main Big Jolt location) next door to Private Studios on Western Avenue, where a number of bands (including The Chemicals) also performed during a long stretch of frequent house parties. The piano intro, however, was recorded to cassette with the Fostex, and had been previously released on the Album of the Eye years earlier. So the Fostex was again employed for the sake of consistency for the outro, which was recorded at the same time as the rest of High Spirits, and was meant to be its companion piece.
